ECU’92 organises her yearly, prestigious conference under the topic: ‘The Future of Cities’. The conference board has been working hard for almost a year to invite a variety of the best and most interesting speakers for you in an inspiring setting. The speakers that will be present at the conference, will be announced shortly. Third year and master students of U.S.E. will have a day off specially for this Conference, which will be held on the 20th of February 2019 at the Jacobikerk in Utrecht.
During the day, we will approach the theme via different perspectives. For example, we will hear opinions from politicians who actively design policies for our cities, we will consider how cities and businesses within them can face the rising temperatures caused by climate change, and most importantly, we will look at how cities became economic hubs and how this might evolve.
Speakers already announced:
– Jan van Zanen, Mayor of Utrecht
– Kajsa Ollongren, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relation
– Francis Ostermeijer, PhD student at the Spatial Economics department of Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam
– Prof. dr. Coen Teulings, Professor at the Faculty Law, Economics and Governance at UU, and Chair of Economics, Institutions and Society.
